Plaza de la Balsa Vieja in Totana
The central plaza in the town centre of Totana
The Plaza de la Balsa Vieja in Totana is very much the focal point of the town centre and is the venue for many of the activities which take place in the town.
The current format was inaugurated in 2010 and is the work of architect Enrique Mínguez Martínez, covering an area of 2,795 m2.
The plaza is opposite the main parish church, the Parroquia de Santiago, which in turn is alongside the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) as well as two of the most important monuments in the town centre, the fountain of Juan de Uzeta and the Casa de las Contribuciones.
The plaza is a large, open area, accessed by ramps and steps from street level, surrounded by shops and bars, among which are the tourist office and the municipal exhibitions hall.

This is a popular place in which to socialise and the plaza contains public seating as well as open-air bars.
There is underground parking accessed by turning right alongside the rambla and then immediately right again. There is also parking alongside the rambla on both sides.
