Club MMGR General Manager - Alfonso Sernandez
Meet Alfonso Sernández, qualified lawyer, professional Padel coach and the General Manager at Club MMGR!
With a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Alfonso has dedicated his entire life to legal practice as a lawyer and the teaching of padel. Over the past 4 years, with the rise of padel worldwide, he has focused on business development for padel clubs, companies at corporate and sports levels, attaining the following qualifications:
- Director of the Registry of Padel Professionals for USA and LATAM (Latin America)
- National Padel Instructor
- Licensed National Referee by the Spanish Padel Federation
Before arriving at Club MMGR in the Mar Menor Golf Resort as General Manager, Alfonso’s journey in the world of racket sports began at the young age of eight, when he started playing tennis. Under the guidance and teaching method of the renowned Nick Bolletieri, he honed his skills and competed in various prestigious junior tournaments.
Upon entering college, Alfonso made the transition from tennis to padel, capitalising on the growing popularity of the sport in Spain. Since 2005, he has dedicated himself exclusively to padel and has become a prominent figure within the padel community.
In pursuit of professional excellence, he obtained the certifications of International Professional Coach and Professional Padel Director in 2016, accredited by the Registry of Padel Professionals (RPP). These certifications equipped him with the skills necessary to manage a club, share his extensive knowledge of padel, and help players of all levels enhance their performance.
To further refine his coaching abilities, Alfonso has continuously sought out opportunities for growth and education. He actively participates in specialised courses for coaches at the prestigious Gustavo Pratto Academy, who trains the current number 1 players in the eminent World Padel Tour, staying updated on the latest coaching methodologies, advanced techniques and acquiring invaluable insights.
After living in the United States for 8 years, he currently serves as the Director of the Registry of Padel Professional (RPP) for USA and LATAM (Latin America), where he provides certified courses for padel instructors and advises investors and new clubs on the padel business. This dedication ensures that Alfonso remains at the forefront of coaching practices and can provide high-quality training and guidance to aspiring padel coaches.
As a player, he achieved a remarkable feat in 2017 by becoming the champion of the National Teams Championship.
As a coach, Alfonso employs a methodology backed by his certifications and training, using engaging games and exercises that focus on technique, strategy, and real game situations in an enjoyable and effective learning environment. Whether you’re a beginner looking to grasp the basics or an advanced player aiming to fine-tune your technical and tactical skills, Alfonso’s experience and knowledge guarantee an enriching and rewarding training experience.
Beyond his technical prowess, Alfonso brings an infectious enthusiasm and a deep-rooted passion for padel to his coaching sessions. His love for the sport is evident, and his innate teaching vocation ensures that he inspires and motivates players to develop a genuine affection for padel.
Not only an exceptional coach, but Alfonso is also a licensed national referee recognised by the royal Spanish Padel Federation.
