International artists based in Switzerland and New York on a double bill at the open-air auditorium of Parque Almansa in San Javier
TICKETS FOR THE 27th SAN JAVIER JAZZ FESTIVAL CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE HERE
Swiss violinist and vocalist Eva Slongo is one of the most promising new arrivals on the jazz violin scene in recent decades. With a strong classical background, Eva feels that she found a refreshing freedom of expression in jazz improvisation and in her beautifully crafted albums she has managed to harmonize the two musical worlds which form the foundation of her artistic identity. To bring this musical richness to life, Eva is joined by an outstanding quartet featuring the extraordinary Italian pianist Giovanni Mirabassi, who is based in Paris and is well-known and admired by the Jazz San Javier audience as one of Europe's most prestigious jazz pianists. Accompanying them are the acclaimed French musician brothers, François and Louis Moutin, on double bass and drums respectively.

Following Eva Slongo onto the stage in Parque Almansa are Brooklyn Funk Essentials, a supergroup formed in New York by Arthur Baker and Lati Kronlund in 1993 and consisting of musicians from various different countries and cultures. Their idea is to mix a number of different styles and genres including funk, jazz, soul, reggae and hip hop, and they are considered one of the most interesting, eclectic and fresh-sounding bands of our times.
They soon became a favourite on the New York club scene and have seven studio albums to their name. Famed for their contagious rhythms and their taste for experimentation, they are bound to delight the audience at the 27th San Javier International Jazz Festival!
