Low-cost flights go on sale between Corvera airport and the capital of Algeria
Two flights a week between Algiers and the Region of Murcia International Airport
Spanish airline Volotea has announced that it is to operate low-cost flights between the Murcia airport of Corvera and the Algerian capital of Algiers from 28th November, with tickets available from a minimum of just 19 euros.
Two services every week are already available on the airline website in each direction, connecting the Costa Cálida with the Algerian capital on Tuesdays and Saturdays from the end of November until 5th January. There is then a short break in the service until 30th March, when it resumes throughout the summer of 2027.
For anyone fancying a few days away over the festive season at the cheapest price, outward tickets can still be found on 22nd, 26th and 29th December!
The new service was originally announced in July of this year but only now has it been finalized, bringing the number of Volotea connections at Corvera to seven, the others being the northern Spanish destinations of Barcelona, Asturias and Bilbao, Venice and Rome in Italy and Lille in northern France.
So, if you haven’t been to Algiers, here’s your chance! Among the features you can expect to find after landing at the Houari Boumédiène International Airport, located on the south-eastern outskirts of the busy port city, are the narrow streets of the historic “Casbah”, the old city centre, which has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boasts a fascinating blend of Algerian, Ottoman, and Andalusian architecture, and a wide range of museums, cultural institutions and art galleries.
Could well be worth exploring!
