Murcia weekend weather forecast December 18-21: More rain on the way
A fresh downpour this Saturday and Sunday will set us up for another wet week to come
Murcia weather forecast, afternoon of Sunday December 21After a week of torrential rain that left flooding, closed roads and more than a few emergency rescues from trapped cars around the Region of Murcia, we can expect a brief respite this Thursday and Friday before a renewed bout of rain for the weekend and going into next week, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Thursday December 18
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday December 18This Thursday, it will be a bit cloudy and overcast, but there is little chance of rain, at last. Thursday also sees the start of a gradual decline in temperatures over the course of the weekend, both at night and during the day.
Friday December 19
Murcia weather forecast, Friday December 19Friday, too, should be bright and sunny, with some high cloud cover, becoming more dense and overcast towards the evening and night, though windspeeds will be moderate.
Saturday December 20
Murcia minimum and maximum temperatures, Saturday December 20Some light rainfall is forecast for the early hours of Saturday morning, especially in the southern and western parts of the Region, those which were the worst affected by Storm Emilia earlier this week.
However, Saturday’s rain is not expected to be as strong, and for now Aemet has not issued any weather warnings. Indeed, for now it looks as if the rain will clear up towards the afternoon and the sun might even peek out from behind the clouds just before it sets.
Sunday December 21
Murcia weather forecast, evening of Sunday December 21On Sunday December 21, the start of astronomical winter and the shortest day of the year in Spain, Murcia is forecast to have a dry and bright morning before another storm front sweeps in from the northwest to drench the province overnight.
This one could be another biggie, so keep your eyes peeled for possible weather alerts issued closer to the time and follow the advice and instructions of police and other authorities, where applicable.
Looking ahead to next week, the rain is set to continue, on and off, so we can probably expect a Wet Christmas, if not a White one.
