Disposal of unwanted furniture, clothes, household items etc in Camposol
Thoughtful ways to dispose of furniture, clothes and household textiles
The disposal of large items of furniture and other articles has proved to a thorny subject on Camposol with some volunteer groups building off road areas for refuse bins and recycling containers in an effort to encourage people to dispose of unwanted objects in a more thoughtful and less erratic manner, to make refuse and recycling points as tidy as possible and avoid rubbish and detritus being strewn round the area.
If the items are reusable it may be worth considering donating them to charity, here are some of the options:
MABS Cancer Support Fundación
MABS Cancer Support Foundation is an organisation that offers help and support for local people diagnosed with cancer.
One of the ways MABS funds the work, premises and equipment required to carry out its invaluable services is via the MABS Charity shop located in Totana, the shop is open Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm and is situated at Avenida Juan Carlos I, number 50, Totana.
The shop provides a great source of income in order for MABS to continue their work in the Mazarrón area, but need your donations of furniture, books, clothes, CDs and bric-a-brac.
There are drop off points for smaller items at The Clubhouse on Camposol sector C; The Respite Home Avenida de la Covachos, number 278, Camposol B4 and Alley Palais on sector B Commercial Centre or phone 634 313 478 to arrange collection especially larger items.
Noah’s Arc Animal rescue
Noah’s Arc funds its animal rescue and re-homing activities mainly through its two charity shops, one located in Camposol on the lower level of Camposol’s B Sector commercial centre and one in the Puerto de Mazarrón at Avenida Tierno Galván, Edificio Bahia Mar, Bloque A Bajo 14.
Both shops are open 10.00 am to 2 pm Mondays to Saturdays
The shops sell second hand goods and bric-a-brac, items can be dropped off at either of the shops or to arrange collection of larger items and house clearances contact the Camposol shop on 711 016236.
Age Concern
Age Concern is the Mazarrón based section of Age Concern Spain and offers extensive help and support to the over fifties including social life events.
Apart from fund raising events, Age Concern raises funds through the sale of second-hand and vintage goods and bric-a-brac from the Age Concern Social Centre situated at 2B, Avenida de la Covachos, Camposol Sector C, tel 634 312516. The Centre is open 10 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday and items can be dropped off during opening hours.
Project ABRAHAM
This is a clothing and footwear recycling project in conjunction with Mazarrón Council, deposit receptacles can be found at many of the main refuse and recycling points around the urbanisation.
Items no longer usable
For larger items such as furniture that are broken beyond repair or at the end of their useful life, these can be taken to the Ecoparque y Centro de Gestión de Residuos, located on the Mazarrón-Águilas road around 2 kilometres from the roundabout at the southern end of the RM3 motorway.
To arrange disposal of large items and appliances via home collection or collection from a home address or one of the refuse bin sites around the urbanisation, contact Mazarrón Council by phone on 968 333 294 (in Spanish), giving the location, street name and house number or road junction.
