What's on in Águilas June 2025
The heat is on as Águilas welcomes the first of the summer visitors
June is a month of transition in Águilas: on the one hand, the school year ends and many of the year-round activities begin a long summer break, but on the other hand, of course, this is the beginning of the busiest time of year in this and the other seaside resorts all around Spain.
As a result, this is hardly a time of rest for the locals! The beaches are becoming more populated, the shops, bars and restaurants begin to fill up, diving and other water sports are taking centre stage all along the coastline… in short, while some of the activities and events which fill the diary for the autumn, winter and spring are winding down their 2024-25 season, the locals are occupied making the summer visitors welcome!
And for many people, this is actually the best part of the summer: the sun is hot but the water is not as warm as it will be in July and August, the evenings tend to cool down (although don’t bank on it with climate change) and while the town is busy, it is not yet as packed as tends to be the case at all of Spain’s “sun, sea and sand” destinations once July gets under way.
So enjoy June in Águilas and browse through the following agenda for the month, which, as ever, is likely to be modified and added to as the month progresses:

OTHER ACTIVITIES
Every Saturday, visit the iconic Embarcadero del Hornillo railway loading jetty
The iconic 120-year-old railway loading jetty of the Embarcadero de Hornillo has recently been opened to visits from members of the public since early June last year. The first phase of the project to restore the jetty was completed shortly beforehand and much of its former glory (and structural stability) has been recovered.
As a result non-guided visits are now permitted, and throughout this month they take place between 11.00 and 13.00.
This timetable is susceptible to modification according to demand. Registration for these free visits is currently through the Águilas tourist office (telephone 968 493285) only but it is hoped that an online facility is soon to be added.
Free guided tours with Anabel López Belmonte, official tour guide of the regional government.
These free tours are a chance to rediscover the Region of Murcia and its heritage, with the visits funded during 2025 by the regional government.
Contact Anabel on 616 411061 or by email at visitaguilas@gmx.com to arrange a time and date.
Each tour lasts at least 2 hours and group sizes can be anywhere from 2 to 29 people. Those taking part agree to a group photo in order for Anabel to accredit her activity to the tourist board.

Oficina de Turismo de Águilas
Águilas boasts 28 kilometres of coastline, with many fine, sandy beaches, sheltered coves and unspoilt natural beaches. It is a great summer favourite with Spanish holidaymakers, so always has a superb programme of concerts and activities throughout the summer, as well as the biggest carnival in the Region of Murcia, 40 days before Semana Santa (Easter.)
Throughout the year it also has a number of museums and historical attractions, a castle with fabulous views overlooking the bay and several other points of interest, all of which make it an good place to visit for days out. Throughout the year the tourist office runs monthly guided tours and the route of the railways, which explores the railway history of the town.
The tourist information office is located in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos, just a short walk from the sea front and Plaza de España, a cool, shaded space in which to enjoy a coffee.
